2024-25 Boys’ High School Basketball Season Wraps Up with Columbus (FL) on Top
The 2024-25 high school basketball season has officially concluded, and Columbus (FL) finishes as the undisputed national champion after a commanding 67–49 victory over Dynamic Prep (TX) in the Chipotle Nationals title game. With the win, the Explorers secured the No. 1 spot in ESPN’s final Top 25 rankings—a position they’ve held since late January.
Duke commit Cayden Boozer (ranked No. 16 in the ESPN 100) delivered a standout performance in the championship, scoring 27 points on 9-of-14 shooting. His heroics also included a game-winning buzzer-beater in the semifinals against Brewster Academy (NH).

Despite entering the tournament as the lowest seed, Dynamic Prep made a stunning run with three dominant victories over elite teams before falling to Columbus in the final. Led by Jermaine O’Neal Jr., the Texas-based program proved its place among the nation’s best, finishing the season at No. 2.
Brewster Academy landed at No. 3 after pushing Columbus to the limit in a thrilling semifinal that came down to the final shot.
Kansas-bound Darryn Peterson (ESPN 100 No. 2) also turned heads in the tournament. In an opening-round showdown between No. 4 Prolific Prep (CA) and Long Island Lutheran, Peterson recorded 28 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists in an 81–80 overtime win. Prolific Prep fell to Dynamic Prep in the next round.
