Three names that the Vikings hope to choose early in the 2025 NFL Draft

The Minnesota Vikings appeared to be in position to win the Super Bowl. However, following the last two games, the Vikings are already planning for the summer. That means determining who will be selected 24th in the NFL Draft in 2025.

Minnesota lost in the first round despite being a potential top seed in the NFC. The Vikings allowed the Los Angeles Rams to record nine sacks, tying an NFL playoff record.

The club, led by head coach Kevin O’Connell, will have to contend with several challenges. However, his team, the Vikings, will not make a top-10 pick this year. Minnesota must wait until the very end of the first night of the draft.

At No. 24, there are still three intriguing names that might benefit the Vikings. There is only one option that can resolve their pass defense issues. Here are three early Vikings first-round targets worth keeping an eye on.

Tyler Booker plays offensive guard for Alabama.

The offensive line clearly has to be fixed. In 14 games this season, Sam Darnold was sacked more than twice. There are nine more in that number, photographed on Monday in Glendale, Arizona.

Tyler Booker of Texas Tech is one of the most consistent pass blockers in this class. With his large hands, he shakes pass rushers at the point of attack. Booker also possesses a tremendous foot burst for pull blocks, allowing him to accomplish his job as a blocker before destroying his opponent.

CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards predicts the 6-foot-5, 352-pound player will go to the Vikings in the 24th round. Booker hails from an Alabama community that is ready for the NFL. He is ready to start right now.

If Boise State standout Ashton Jeanty loses versus the Vikings, Minnesota supporters will yell “Skol!” However, Jeanty is unlikely to dip that low.

Kaleb Johnson of Iowa, on the other hand, should be available if Minnesota goes with the running back plan. Johnson is taller than Jeanty, who is 5 feet 9 inches, and he knows how to run in the zone effectively

Johnson’s ability to cut is one of his strongest qualities. Another difficult one to surpass, but this one stands 6 feet tall and weighs 220 pounds. The Vikings and O’Connell must consider who will fill in for Aaron Jones, who is 30 years old, for a long time. Johnson, by coming here, becomes the Twin Cities’ future running back.

Ben Morrison is a Notre Dame cornerback. Benjamin Morrison (20) participates in warm-ups before an NCAA football game between Notre Dame and Northern Illinois at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend on Saturday, September 7, 2024.
