‘They’d have to pay a lot of money,’ says Roy Keane, when asked whether the 21-year-old should join Liverpool or Arsenal.

Roy Keane has urged Arsenal to sign Moises Caicedo, despite the fact that the Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder is also wanted by Liverpool

On Sky Sports, the pundit argued that the 21-year-old Ecuador international would be a good investment for Mikel Arteta’s side as Arsenal look to beat Liverpool to Caicedo’s signature, with the north London club coming close in January.

Caicedo is reportedly on Liverpool’s radar as the South American wonderkid looks set for a major move this summer, but Keane believes the Brighton star should join Arsenal, who are willing to spend big on the midfielder.

When asked why Caicedo should join Arsenal in the summer, Keane replied, “You can see why they would be interested in him.” He’s a strong and powerful young man. He’s 21 years old and in good health. He’s done so well in the Premier League that it’s no surprise they’re interested.

“Of course, they attempted to recruit him in January.” He signed a new contract, but I’m sure there are plenty of clauses. If Arsenal is interested in him, they will have to pay a high price for him; ideally, at his age, he is a good investment for Arsenal.”

Liverpool will face some difficulties in beating Arsenal at Caicedo.

Caicedo and Arsenal appear to be early favorites to be one of the summer’s most dominant transfer stories, with the Gunners seemingly willing to pay a club-record fee to bring the Brighton man to the Emirates, and Liverpool may struggle to compete with Arteta.

If Liverpool fails to finish in the top four, the club’s budget for new signings will be severely limited, and Caicedo may be out of reach for a club looking to bring in as many as three new central midfielders, something Arsenal may also be considering.
