The second Detroit Lions injury report for Week 8 includes one player who is not practicing.

The Detroit Lions’ injury report for Thursday does not appear to be bad.

The Detroit Lions practiced for the second time this week, ahead of their Week 8 game against the Tennessee Titans. The first practice report of a normal week isn’t always the most enlightening, since rest days can come into play, and the Lions listed four players as missing practice on Wednesday due to rest.

Let’s look at the Lions’ practice report for Thursday.

DL Josh Paschal (illness): DNP.

OT Taylor Decker (rest) was a full participant, as was Graham Glasgow (rest). Christian Mahogany (sickness) was also a full participant.
DL Levi Onwuzurike (resting): Full participant
C Frank Ragnow (rest) is a full participant. OG Kevin Zeitler (groin) is also a full participant. Detroit Lions are the second team.

The second Detroit Lions injury report for Week 8 comes as predicted.

As expected, all four of the aforementioned players who received a rest day on Wednesday (Decker, Glasgow, Ragnow, and Onwuzurike) resumed full participation on Thursday.

Paschal missed his second consecutive practice due to illness. When head coach Dan Campbell next addresses to the media on Friday, he should provide an update on the third-year defensive lineman.

Zeitler missed last Sunday’s game due to a hip ailment, which was initially diagnosed as a groin issue at the same point last week. Back-to-back full sessions indicate that he will return to action against the Titans on Sunday.

In a another injury update, safety Ifeatu Melifonwu was seen working off to the side with a trainer during Thursday’s practice. The fourth-year safety has yet to play this season after sustaining an ankle/Achilles injury during training camp, but doing what he did on Thursday is a step in the right direction after not practicing since Week 1. He is eligible to return from injured reserve in Week 9, but it is uncertain whether he will play right away or if the Lions would use a 21-day evaluation window.
