Ben Doak is unquestionably Liverpool’s young player to watch in 2023
Since signing from Celtic in the summer, the 17-year-old attacker has had a fantastic start to life on Merseyside.
As a 16-year-old, he made his first-team debut against the Rams in September. Shortly after, barely a day after his birthday, he was named to Liverpool’s Premier League bench against Southampton.
The Scotsman appears to have pleased Jurgen Klopp’s senior coaching staff after traveling with the Reds’ first-team to the Reds’ warm-weather training camp in Dubai. He made an appearance against AC Milan and rattled the post. This demonstrated his courageous personality and unwavering will to succeed, emphasizing how he is more than deserving of the opportunity.
Doak is one to keep an eye on in 2023.
Doak, a 17-year-old with only one senior appearance for the club, needs to obtain as much experience in men’s football as possible.
In the coming year, the attacker is sure to get more first-team action, whether in the FA Cup or from the bench in the Premier League.
In the near future, the Reds will attempt to loan the youngster away.
The exact level remains to be known. Harvey Elliott, then 17, was loaned out to Blackburn Rovers in the Championship.
This could be an option for Doak, who appears unfazed by the brutality of the men’s game.
The former Celtic youngster is still in his infancy. Having said that, he has been praised by Scotland U21 head coach Scott Gemmill, who stated that the teenager’s “potential is huge,” indicating that Liverpool have an outstanding young player on their hands.
