Sadio Mane, a Liverpool legend, only left the club last summer, but he is ‘aching’ for a reunion at Anfield
Following his explosive fallout with Bayern Munich, Sadio Mane could make an incredible comeback at Liverpool.
Senegalese superstar Mane made headlines this week after punching teammate Leroy Sane during Bayern Munich’s defeat to Manchester City. Mane’s employers suspended him and fined him.
With Mane struggling to make an impression in his first season in German football, it’s been suggested that he could look for a new club this summer – and there’s one incredible option.
The player has told friends that he “misses Liverpool” and is “aching” for a return to the Premier League, according to Football Insider(opens in new tab).
Liverpool have had a difficult season without Mane, with Darwin Nunez stepping in to replace the departing No.10. Nunez has eight Premier League goals for Liverpool but has yet to win over fans unanimously.
Mane, who left Anfield for more than £30 million, could be available for as little as £25 million as Bayern look to cut their losses on a player who has just turned 31.
Still, it’s unclear whether Jurgen Klopp would want to bring the player back to the team after letting him go last summer and replacing him with a few new signings in the last 15 months.
Liverpool signed Luis Diaz to play left wing in January 2022, and Fabio Carvalho joined for free in the summer. Darwin Nunez was then signed as a center-forward before being moved out wide when the Reds signed Cody Gakpo in the most recent January transfer window.
Transfermarkt estimates Mane’s worth at around €45 million (opens in new tab).
