Roberto Firmino has been named to the bench for Liverpool’s Premier League match against Aston Villa, his final appearance at Anfield

The Brazilian attacker, whose contract expires at the end of the season, has missed the Reds’ last six games due to a muscular problem, but Jurgen Klopp provided an upbeat update on his condition on Friday.

While Firmino has not been considered for a starting spot, the 31-year-old could play a cameo role in Liverpool’s final home game before losing Naby Keita, James Milner, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at the end of the season.

Milner is the only other member of the out-of-contract quartet to make the bench, as Keita – who is also injured – and Oxlade-Chamberlain are both absent, with Klopp naming an unchanged lineup from Monday’s win over Leicester City.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has made three changes to the team that defeated Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, bringing in Boubacar Kamara, Matty Cash, and Lucas Digne.

Emiliano Buendia, Ashley Young, and Alex Moreno are the players to make way, with Philippe Coutinho out due to injury.

Liverpool’s starting lineup is as follows: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Jones; Salah, Gakpo, Diaz.
Kelleher, Gomez, Milner, Firmino, Matip, Tsimikas, Jota, Elliott, Carvalho are the substitutes.
