Sport has learned that Barcelona is considering loaning out Clement Lenglet in order to reduce his salary on their payroll.
According to the source, now that Ousmane Dembele and Frank Kessie have left Barcelona, the club is ‘bent’ on finding a new home for Lenglet.
During the Joan Gamper trophy match, the Catalan club supposedly met with Tottenham officials to arrange a deal for the Frenchman, but no agreement was made.
Spurs were reportedly’very delighted with the centre-back’s professionalism last season,’ with the player prioritising a return to the North London club.
Spurs could get Lenglet on loan again this summer.
However, due to their inability to reach an agreement with the Premier League team, Barcelona is now offering the player to other clubs, according to the site.
Both AC Milan and Juventus are rumoured to be interested in signing the player, but only on a loan basis. According to Sport, the La Liga heavyweights are warming up to the idea of loaning Lenglet out with the option of making the transfer permanent.
The scenario appears to be working in Tottenham‘s favour, with the Lilywhites believing that Barcelona would finally be forced to transfer Lenglet to them for a bargain price.
I do not believe Juve or Milan would be able to match the Frenchman’s salaries, which is why he may be reluctant to join either team this summer.
