When the transfer window opens on Sunday, the 23-year-old will become Jurgen Klopp’s newest addition. Liverpool also provided a behind-the-scenes look at his first day on their YouTube account ahead of his registration with the Reds.

Gakpo was evidently impressed as he walked around the training facility and met Klopp and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

“The first impression was very incredible. “[The training center is] enormous,” the Dutchman exclaimed. “Everything is here, and the accommodations are fantastic. I’m definitely looking forward to meeting all the guys, getting started, and having a good time.”

Gakpo has already settled in.

Gakpo appears to be an easygoing, confident kind at first glance. He didn’t appear surprised to be visiting the Liverpool headquarters for the first time. That speaks well for his future with the Reds.

The attacker is certainly used to dealing with pressure, having served as captain of his boyhood club, PSV Eindhoven. He also clearly has a strong personality.

Gakpo should fit in well in a squad full of veteran internationals and leaders.

Of course, he has international colleague Virgil van Dijk to assist him in this regard as well. On Gakpo’s vlog, the large man could be seen greeting him with a wide smile and an embrace.

Alexander-Arnold was also spotted wandering across the training grounds by the new recruit. The Liverpool right-back introduced himself to the Netherlands star in a pleasant little exchange.

A meeting with assistant manager Pep Lijnders also appeared to be boisterous. They grinned and joked their way through their first meeting in unfamiliar surroundings, speaking in their original tongue.

So, based on a meticulously prepared 10-minute movie, it appears that Gakpo will fit right in at Liverpool.

Hopefully, he can turn that into excellent results on the field as soon as possible.
