The Rangers hero was dissatisfied with the outcome on Saturday
A Celtic legend mocked a Rangers hero for claiming a red card against the Hoops.
Brendan Rodgers’ team won their sixth Premiership title in a row on Sunday, defeating Ross County 2-1. He celebrated with the away fans in Dingwall, and after already receiving a yellow card, some expected a second.
Referee Kevin Clancy kept his cards close to his chest, and Rangers fan Kris Boyd was right on the money. He told Sky Sports: “Take nothing away from Celtic, it’s a wonderful finish by Nicolas Kuhn. But clearly, you can just run into the mob and celebrate, and nothing will happen. Rules must have
Celtic icon Chris Sutton expressed his confusion about Boyd. He wrote, “Celtic huffed and puffed and eventually got there. The substitutions affected the game. McCowan was outstanding, Kyogo moved well, and Forrest, the elderly stager, looked sharp. Kuhn delivers an excellent finale. Kris Boyd objected to his celebrating the winner, saying, “Dear me.”
Sutton followed up his message with laughing emojis for Boyd. According to the IFAB rules, players can celebrate when a goal is scored, but they must not overdo it; organized celebrations are not encouraged and must not waste too much time.

“Leaving the field of play to celebrate a goal is not a cautionable offense, but players must return as soon as possible. Even if the goal is disallowed, a player must be cautioned for: climbing onto a perimeter fence and/or approaching spectators in a way that causes safety and/or security issues; acting in a provocative, derisory, or inflammatory manner; covering the head or face with a mask or other similar item; or removing or covering the head with a shirt.
Philippe Clement casts doubt on Rangersâ ÂŁ4 million transfer request in post-match disclosure.
Rangersâ injury and transfer records are two areas that receive a lot of scrutiny
The Gers have been struggling in the medical department for the better part of three years, and Philippe Clement has made it his mission to fix the problems.
At the same time, Rangers has spent much on trades and wages on players that are underperforming for the team.
So when one player brings both issues into question at the same moment, fans automatically raise their eyebrows.
And that is the case for one of the Rangersâ most expensive players, who has been ruled out of action with no clear return date.
Oscar Cortes now out for âextended termâ
Rangers recruited Oscar Cortes on loan in January, and it appeared to be a promising transaction for the club.
Cortes, who joined on loan from RC Lens, gave new enthusiasm to the squad and was expected to lead the clubâs title charge.
However, a catastrophic injury and subsequent surgery suffered only seven games into his Rangers career ended a promising start.
Rangers maintained faith in Oscar Cortes this summer, agreeing to a ÂŁ4 million loan-to-buy deal following a successful recovery.
But so far, things havenât gone as planned.
Cortes suffered an injury on the first day of the season against Hearts, raising further questions about the clubâs use of a limited budget.
Cortes returned briefly against Dundee United, but had another injury in training, which Clement originally tried to downplay.
Now, the Rangers boss has confirmed that the condition is âlonger termâ but has not revealed how long Cortes will be out of action.
When asked about the clubâs injuries leading up to the international break, Clement remarked, âI expect Danilo and Ridvan to be back in training.â
âThe two others (Cortes and Matondo) are not yet; it is too early for that. (Oscar Cortes) will be here for the long haul.â
Rangers have ÂŁ17.5 million of talent sidelined.
While Philippe Clement isnât accountable for the status of the Rangers squad when he came in the door, he will have to carry some of the burden.
Nothing the Colombian winger has done thus far has justified the decision to take a ÂŁ4 million gamble on his talents, and Cortesâ recurring injury problems have put enormous pressure on both the club and the winger.
With the club on a short budget, having such an expensive player continuously unavailable is disheartening for fans who want real change at Ibrox.
Itâs also the same old tale as the last few seasons.
Oscar Cortes isnât the only pricey signing who hasnât made an effect on the Rangersâ first-team roster.
Clement mentioned Oscar Cortes, Danilo, Ridvan Yilmaz, and Rabbi Matondo, who cost a total of ÂŁ17.5 million.
In fact, the majority of the clubâs most expensive additions over the last three years have found themselves consistently sidelined.
