Rangers have accepted a proposal for their ninth summer deal, which is due in Glasgow in the coming days, according to reports.

Rangers Close in on Go Ahead Eagles Star Oliver Antman After Major Transfer Breakthrough

Rangers have made significant progress in their efforts to sign Oliver Antman from Dutch club Go Ahead Eagles, marking what could be another key addition to Russell Martin’s summer overhaul.

With eight signings already secured this transfer window, the Ibrox side is showing no signs of slowing down. Antman, a 23-year-old Finnish international, is now on the verge of becoming the latest recruit as Rangers continue to strengthen their attacking options.

Though Rangers have already brought in two wingers — Djeidi Gassama and Mikey Moore — Antman is seen as a longer-term asset who can grow with the club. Talks with Go Ahead Eagles have been ongoing in recent days, and it’s now understood that a deal has been reached, with the player expected to arrive in Glasgow shortly.

Rangers have signed Djeidi Gassama from Sheffield Wednesday.

According to Chris Jack of the Rangers Review, the clubs have agreed on a fee of around £3 million for Antman, who will now move closer to completing the transfer.

Antman made 36 appearances for Go Ahead Eagles last season, netting six goals, and is viewed as a versatile forward who can operate across the front line. Prior to his time in the Eredivisie, he impressed with FC Nordsjaelland, scoring 16 goals in 110 matches.

Although a few contract details are still being finalized, Antman is expected to arrive in Glasgow very soon. At 23, he brings more maturity than the younger Gassama and Moore, and is believed to be capable of making an immediate impact under Martin.

While his natural position is on the right wing, Antman’s flexibility means he can fill various roles in attack — an asset for Martin’s evolving squad. He joins a growing pool of wide players, including Findlay Curtis, who has also begun making first-team appearances.

Although Antman’s arrival is imminent, Rangers’ recruitment is far from over. A new centre-forward is still on the wish list, with Martin determined to round out the squad before the transfer window closes in a month.

If Antman lives up to expectations, the £3m fee could prove to be an excellent investment — especially when compared to past transfers that failed to deliver. While Moore is only expected to stay at Ibrox for the current season, Antman represents a player who could not only contribute immediately but also grow in value over time.

With the core of the squad nearly complete, Rangers look set to enter the new season with fresh energy and depth — and Antman could be a major part of that plan.
