Rangers are targeting a new striker, with a Leeds star and a Premier League hitman valued at £60 million linked.

As Rangers’ struggles in front of goal continue in the Scottish Premiership, the team’s faltering frontline has drawn a lot of criticism this season

Kris Boyd believes Rangers’ careless front line has a lot to answer for, as it took an own goal from Jason Holt to break St Johnstone’s resolve in the team’s 1-0 triumph in Perth over the weekend.

Rangers do seem to have one eye on the January transfer market, though, since the team still has to deal with a challenging December schedule.

And although Hamza Igamane, Danilo, and Cyriel Dessers will have to do until then, Rangers may be looking to add more firepower, according to the most recent transfer rumors.

Rangers linked to English Championship striker Joe Gelhardt of Leeds United has been linked to Rangers.

Although the 22-year-old English striker is well-liked at Elland Road, Daniel Farke has given him more opportunities this season.

Rangers is reportedly one of several teams after Joe Gelhardt, with the Ibrox team looking to sign a loan agreement in January, according to sources originating from Yorkshire.

It comes a year after Gelhardt nearly joined Celtic, an Old Firm rival, who ultimately made a move for Adam Idah of Norwich City.

Gelhardt hasn’t been spotted wearing Leeds colors since coming off the bench against Norwich in October, and he has only made two appearances in the English Championship this season, both as a substitute.

According to reports, the striker is also being pursued by Portsmouth, Stoke City, Plymouth Argyle, Preston North End, and two unidentified Belgian teams.

Aspiring Ibrox associates with a “£60 million Premier League hitman”
According to reports, Brighton forward Evan Ferguson is the other striker who is considering Rangers before the January transfer window opens.

The 20-year-old Republic of Ireland striker is regarded as one of the Premier League’s best young forwards, and Brighton is reportedly asking £60 million for him.

Although the move is ambitious and complex on many levels, Rangers were identified as potential loan suitors for Ferguson in January.

First of all, Celtic, an Old Firm foe, is also mentioned, and it seems improbable that a Republic of Ireland player would pick Rangers over the Parkhead team.

Even if the player would ever think about joining the Rangers, that is.

According to reports, Evan Ferguson has a number of well-known admirers south of the border, including Premier League teams Fulham, Southampton, Leicester, and West Ham.

Rangers takeover update with ‘Huge’ £22m barrier shared by Stephen McGowan

According to Stephen McGowan, Rangers are facing a dearth of potential investors willing to finance a complete takeover at Ibrox.

In its print edition on January 14, page 74, the journalist for the Scottish Daily Mail acknowledged that any new owners would also have to deal with increasing FFP rules at Ibrox.

Rangers supporters are now constantly opposing the present board and directors, but their £22 million in loans also pose a significant takeover obstacle.

McGowan wrote: “The directors’ personal financial commitment, which currently totals £22 million in loans, is something you cannot fault them for.”

More than anything else, this amount stands in the way of the type of regime change that many supporters now desire.

“An additional factor is the dearth of interested parties willing to buy out the board and function under ever-tougher FFP restrictions.”

Update on Rangers’ takeover at Ibrox
For some really worried fans, there doesn’t seem to be any end in sight at this time.

Despite some startling recent outcomes, it seems the board is also going nowhere after Patrick Stewart supported Philippe Clement on the field.

That additional expense could be the safety net those numbers require to remain in place, as outstanding debts are probably preventing new investors from entering the market.

Even though Stewart and Fraser Thornton have just recently joined the team, being at the top of Rangers Football Club puts pressure on you right away.

The fact that Celtic essentially controls the Scottish Premiership championship after 2025 has only barely begun is already outrageous, but that is the current situation.

In October, it was thought that external investment was more likely than a complete acquisition, although even that hasn’t occurred in the months that have followed (Chris Jack).

Fans are understandably worried, but it doesn’t seem like Govan will be able to address their issues anytime soon.

How a driven USA player managed to transfer £5.7 million to Rangers while eluding Ibrox

For many Rangers supporters, Malik Tillman is the quintessential one that got away.

If things had gone differently, the 22-year-old offensive midfielder for PSV Eindhoven would have ended up permanently at Rangers after spending a season on loan at Ibrox between 22 and 23.

Former Bayern directors commended Ross Wilson for helping to negotiate an innovative agreement that safeguarded Rangers’ interests over the growth of the young American.

And now that Malik Tillman is talking about the possibility of a “dream” return to Bayern Munich, Rangers could be getting even another reward.

Malik Tillman has already cost Rangers £2.2 million.
Malik Tillman had a successful, although not particularly memorable, season while on loan at Rangers, helping the team earn a Champions League berth for the first time in twelve years.

The offensive midfielder has a £5 million buy option with Rangers, which the team would exercise at the end of the current campaign.

But as part of a pre-arranged buyback provision, Bayern would then “hit a number straight back,” as revealed by Michael Beale, the Rangers manager at the time.

Rangers are said to have made about £1 million from the whole deal.

Then, with a £12 million buyout option, Bayern would loan Malik Tillman to PSV, where he assisted in eliminating Rangers from the Champions League qualifying round.

Rangers made a cool £1.2 million from the agreement, or 10% of the transfer cost, when PSV triggered this in the summer.

Rangers would receive another payout for Bayern’s “dream.”
Rangers may soon get an additional payment in addition to the £2.2 million they have already received for their assistance in developing Malik Tillman.

This is due to Bayern’s inclusion of an astounding £35 million repurchase fee in the agreement that brought Tillman to the Netherlands.

According to the Rangers Review, the Ibrox team will be entitled to a further 10% of any transaction, or £3.5 million, should Bayern decide to proceed with the move. This would bring the total sum recovered to £5.7 million.

The admission that it is Tillman’s “dream to return to Bayern Munich one day” is part of it.

The US international maintains that he is content at PSV Eindhoven and will not depart during this transfer window, even if Rangers may have to wait for any Tillman paycheck.

“They told me that they were confident in my skills on the ball when I was at Bayern Munich, but that it needed to be more aggressive,” Tillman said.

That I needed to win more duels and second balls, battle for every ball more frequently, and recover more lost balls.

I was informed that I would not yet be able to play for their first team. However, I want to visit Bayern again in the future. Even so, I am aware that they already have excellent players.

My mother and many of the individuals who have followed me for years reside in Bavaria, where I grew up. The provisions of my PSV contract are well known.

However, I have no plans to leave PSV during this transfer window. I fit in at the club.

Journalist discloses what’very, very senior’ Rangers source stated concerning Clement’s sacking.

Rangers will stick with Philippe Clement for the remainder of the season as they attempt to break the “cycle” of manager sackings, Jonny McFarlane has been told.

Speaking on The Rangers Review (13 January), McFarlane stated that a “very, very senior” Ibrox source informed him that the Light Blues administration will not remove a manager in the middle of a season.

Clement has already received a vote of confidence from Gers CEO Patrick Stewart, and following mid-season sackings in each of the last two seasons, the Belgian’s position looks to be secure regardless of the outcome.

McFarlane speculated: “The [managerial] cycle repeats – I was told by a very, very senior Rangers source at the start of this season that this cycle would be broken, that they would not sack a manager mid-season.”

Despite the Rangers’ position, the pressure to fire Philippe Clement is increasing.
While it was believed the Belgian wouldn’t be the third Gers boss in a row to be dismissed mid-season, developments at Ibrox subsequently have placed Clement on extremely precarious footing.

Not only are the Light Blues 15 points behind arch-rivals Celtic in the Premiership league, less than two weeks after defeating them, but they have also failed to qualify for the Champions League play-offs.

That failure occurred at the start of the season, resulting in the Bears missing out on a £4 million windfall from UEFA and instantly placing them at a disadvantage compared to their Old Firm opponents.

The financial distance between the two Glasgow heavyweights is widening as a result of Clement and the board’s failures this season, and any attempts to reinforce in January are likely to be stopgap measures.

Clement may have outlasted Michael Beale and Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s tenures in the two seasons preceding his arrival at Ibrox, but it remains to be seen whether the Ibrox board will keep their word.

Rangers are expected to get a £3.5 transfer windfall as a result of Bayern Munich’s final decision.

After former loan star Malik Tillman stated he wants to rejoin Bayern Munich in the future, Rangers may be due a windfall of £3.5 million

. During his season-long loan to Rangers in 2022–2023, the American international was a big success. Last summer, Tillman made his loan move from Bayern Munich to PSV Eindhoven permanent in a £12 million deal.

Rangers reportedly received a windfall of £1.2 million as the German powerhouses changed their minds about an agreement that would have allowed the Ibrox club to sign him following his loan period.

After the Bundesliga team withdrew from the deal, Rangers was compensated, and the settlement also included a 10% sell-on fee.

Rangers would be eligible for a cool bonus of £3.5 million if Bayern were to re-sign Tillman for £35 million under the terms of their buy-back agreement.

Additionally, the 22-year-old midfielder has acknowledged that his ultimate goal is to rejoin Bayern.

“They told me that they had faith in my skills on the ball when I was at Bayern Munich, but that it needed to be more aggressive,” he stated. that I needed to win more duels and second balls, fight for every ball more frequently, and recover more lost balls.

“I was informed that I would not yet be able to play for their first team. However, I hope to visit Bayern again in the future. Even so, I am aware that they already have excellent players. “My mother and many of the individuals who have followed me for years reside in Bavaria, where I grew up. The provisions in my PSV contract are well known. However, I have no plans to leave PSV during this transfer window. I fit in at the club.

Ex-FIFA official: Following a “disgraceful” incident at Ibrox, a Rangers player faces SFA action

Keith Hackett claims that Rangers striker Hamza Igamane might face retroactive action from the SFA following a “disgraceful” incident during the victory over St Johnstone.

To relieve some of the burden on the Belgian head coach, Philippe Clement’s team defeated St Johnstone 3-1 in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday, January 12.

Amid complaints from the fans, Igamane scored the first goal after 16 minutes, although he could face consequences for trying to trick the referees just before he was substituted out in the second half.

Barry Douglas gave the in-form attacker a small shove, causing him to throw himself to the ground and roll around holding his leg.

“The actions of Igamane are frankly disgraceful,” former FIFA official Hackett told Ibrox News exclusively after watching the video.

He ought to have been given a yellow card right away for blatantly simulating. The Scottish FA should examine and take corrective measures because the referee did not approve of this.

Rangers’ Hamza Igamane is in outstanding form. First and foremost, Igamane’s antics throughout the second half at Ibrox were incredibly humiliating.

The Moroccan attempted to buy his team a penalty, but Douglas’s contact was, at best, scant and did not merit the response he received.

However, his goal against St Johnstone made it 12 for the season in the Scottish Premiership and Europa League combined, which inevitably led to leave talks, so Rangers supporters will forgive him completely.

Let’s hope that those in control won’t take any retroactive action because half of those goals have come in his last five games.
