Rangers are targeting a new striker, with a Leeds star and a Premier League hitman valued at £60 million linked.

As Rangers’ struggles in front of goal continue in the Scottish Premiership, the team’s faltering frontline has drawn a lot of criticism this season

Kris Boyd believes Rangers’ careless front line has a lot to answer for, as it took an own goal from Jason Holt to break St Johnstone’s resolve in the team’s 1-0 triumph in Perth over the weekend.

Rangers do seem to have one eye on the January transfer market, though, since the team still has to deal with a challenging December schedule.

And although Hamza Igamane, Danilo, and Cyriel Dessers will have to do until then, Rangers may be looking to add more firepower, according to the most recent transfer rumors.

Rangers linked to English Championship striker Joe Gelhardt of Leeds United has been linked to Rangers.

Although the 22-year-old English striker is well-liked at Elland Road, Daniel Farke has given him more opportunities this season.

Rangers is reportedly one of several teams after Joe Gelhardt, with the Ibrox team looking to sign a loan agreement in January, according to sources originating from Yorkshire.

It comes a year after Gelhardt nearly joined Celtic, an Old Firm rival, who ultimately made a move for Adam Idah of Norwich City.

Gelhardt hasn’t been spotted wearing Leeds colors since coming off the bench against Norwich in October, and he has only made two appearances in the English Championship this season, both as a substitute.

According to reports, the striker is also being pursued by Portsmouth, Stoke City, Plymouth Argyle, Preston North End, and two unidentified Belgian teams.

Aspiring Ibrox associates with a “£60 million Premier League hitman”
According to reports, Brighton forward Evan Ferguson is the other striker who is considering Rangers before the January transfer window opens.

The 20-year-old Republic of Ireland striker is regarded as one of the Premier League’s best young forwards, and Brighton is reportedly asking £60 million for him.

Although the move is ambitious and complex on many levels, Rangers were identified as potential loan suitors for Ferguson in January.

First of all, Celtic, an Old Firm foe, is also mentioned, and it seems improbable that a Republic of Ireland player would pick Rangers over the Parkhead team.

Even if the player would ever think about joining the Rangers, that is.

According to reports, Evan Ferguson has a number of well-known admirers south of the border, including Premier League teams Fulham, Southampton, Leicester, and West Ham.
