Moises Caicedo, a Chelsea midfielder, was among those named to the Premier League team of the week following his outstanding performance against Manchester United over the weekend
The Ecuador international has been one of the Premier League’s most improved players this season, and his spectacular volley earned Chelsea a point at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Caicedo dominated the show from midfield and seems like an obvious choice for team of the week, as he continues to justify the high amount the Blues paid to recruit him from Brighton.
Caicedo took some time to get going at Stamford Bridge, but there’s no doubt that he’s now one of the squad’s most vital players, and this won’t be his last appearance on the team of the week this season.

Deeney commented on Caicedo’s performance, saying: “His performance in Chelsea’s draw at Manchester United was arguably his best game for the club.”
“I know people believe it’s because of his goal, and it was a fantastic strike, but he was all over the place, putting his foot in, committing many fouls, and making rash tackles.
“He got on the ball more and was braver in his attacking play. I thought he was much better than he had been.”
Tottenham, meanwhile, add two players to Troy Deeney’s starting lineup following their excellent 4-1 victory against Aston Villa.
Unai Emery’s team has been difficult to beat for some time, and they appeared to be on their way to a win in north London after grabbing the lead, but Spurs overturned them with a great comeback late on.
Three Bournemouth players have also been included following their surprise 2-1 win over Manchester City, while Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon has been included following his contribution to the Magpies’ victory over Arsenal.
Spurs must now sign the “box-office” £80 million-rated Aston Villa player instead of Jacob Ramsey.

We saw this against Aston Villa yesterday afternoon, when Spurs rallied back from a goal down in the first half to win 4-1, demonstrating that when they are on form, few teams can contain their attacking talent.
However, everything can be improved, and there is one Villa player who should be at the top of Daniel Levy’s wishlist for next year to strengthen the club’s attacking options, and it is not Jacob Ramsey.
Tottenham’s offensive stars
As yesterday’s game demonstrated, Tottenham’s greatest strength is their offensive, so let’s take a look at some of their top players.
The first is the man of the moment, Dominic Solanke, who, after a difficult few weeks, came alive against Villa, scoring two goals and earning Sky Sports’ Man of the Match award.
The £65 million man already has five goals and two assists in 13 outings for the Lilywhites, which isn’t bad for a first season with a new club, and based on his performance yesterday, those figures could soon explode.
Brennan Johnson, who, like Solanke, had a slow start to the season, scored another goal in Sunday’s stunning victory and now has a legitimate claim to be the North Londoners’ most important player.
In his 15 appearances, the Welsh international has seven goals, averaging one every 2.14 games, which is clearly impressive for a winger.
Finally, James Maddison scored against Unai Emery’s team, and while his time in North London has been uneven, he has been a consistent goal-scorer this season.
For example, despite a few poor games, the former Leicester City player has three goals and four assists in 13 appearances, equating to one goal every 1.85 games.
Overall, the North Londoners have a great selection of attacking quality to pick from, but if they buy Villa’s only goalscorer from the weekend, they’ll add one more.

So the Villa star in question is the very fascinating Morgan Rogers.
Spurs may have been interested in recruiting the Englishman’s colleague and countrymen Jacob Ramsey this summer, but if they return to Villa Park in 2025 searching for newcomers, they should abandon their earlier interest and focus on signing Rogers instead.
The Halesowen-born dynamo has been in incredible form this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists in only 13 appearances, amounting to a goal involvement every 2.16 games, which is astounding for a 22-year-old midfielder.
Furthermore, the “fearless” phenom, as described by U23 scout Antonio Mango, hasn’t only performed in the Premier League. He also started all three Villans Champions League games this season, with one assist against Bologna.
There is, however, one minor issue with signing the “box-office” midfielder, as Sky Sports journalist David Reed has termed him, and that is how much he could cost, with former Spurs and Villa manager Tim Sherwood speculating that the Midlands club could demand up to £80 million for their finest asset.
