Chris Sutton slammed Rangers captain James Tavernier for his role in the buildup to Aberdeen’s second goal on Wednesday (30 October)
The Gers lost 2-1 at Pittodrie, putting them nine points behind the second-placed Dons and heaping pressure on manager Philippe Clement.
Tavernier was singled out for criticism in the Sky Sports studio following the game for failing to stop Shay Morris’ 74th-minute winner.
Sutton spoke with Sky Sports Football (30 October, 10:17pm) on Tavernier’s part in the goal.
“It was pathetic from Tavernier, I mean, dear me,” he quipped.
Philippe Clement is currently in serious danger at Rangers.
If the heat on Clement’s wasn’t already high before their loss to the Dons, it certainly is now.

Before the game even began, there was probably too much at stake for the Gers to manage.
When things become tough, the Rangers opt to crumble, as they have done in the majority of their losses this season.

No matter how often Clement’s guys claim to thrive under pressure or perform better when the stakes are high, it seems like nothing good ever comes out of these circumstances.
