NO. 5 DUKE STUNS NO. 24 KANSAS AT MSG: CAM BOOZER PLANTS HIS FLAG IN THE GARDEN

NEW YORK  Under the glowing lights of Madison Square Garden  the arena every young hooper dreams about  No. 5 Duke delivered a statement win that felt bigger than any early-season matchup. The Blue Devils walked into the world’s most famous basketball stage and walked out with a 78–66 victory over No. 24 Kansas, powered by the poise, maturity, and sheer dominance of freshman phenom Cam Boozer.

And if this was Duke’s first ranked win of the season… it won’t be the last. Not with this kind of energy.

CAM BOOZER OWNS THE MOMENT

In a game loaded with history, pressure, and expectations, it was the youngest star on the floor who played like he’d been here for years. Boozer finished with:

18 points, 10 rebounds, big-time plays, and even bigger confidence.

Every time Kansas tried to claw back, Boozer answered. Whether it was a put-back, a tough finish in traffic, or a defensive stop, he made sure Duke never lost control of the game. His body language said everything  calm, composed, ready.

This wasn’t just production.
This was presence.

THE BLUE DEVILS LOOK DIFFERENT THIS YEAR

This Duke team is not the soft, developing group critics were expecting early in the season. They’re physical. They’re connected. They defend. And they punch first.

Kansas found that out the hard way.

At one point in the second half, the Jayhawks were visibly frustrated. The defensive pressure, the rebounding intensity, and the transition bursts were too much. Duke simply looked faster, more fluid, and more confident in their identity.

And it all ran through Boozer’s energy.

KANSAS STRUGGLES TO RESPOND

Kansas came in looking for a rebound statement, but Duke suffocated their rhythm. Open looks weren’t falling, second-chance points were rare, and their frustration was written on their faces.

When Duke extended the lead late, the tension on the Kansas sideline said it all. They weren’t just losing  they were being outplayed.

THE GARDEN FEELS LIKE DUKE’S SECOND HOME

Madison Square Garden has provided iconic Duke moments for decades. Add this one to the list.

Every big play echoed louder. Every Boozer rebound drew roars. Every dagger shot pushed the energy higher. By the final buzzer, the Garden sounded less like a neutral site and more like Cameron Indoor North.

BIG PICTURE: DUKE IS JUST GETTING STARTED

You don’t walk into MSG, beat a ranked opponent, and look that comfortable unless you’re real.

This win didn’t just pad Duke’s record.
It announced them.

Announced their depth.
Announced their toughness.
Announced Cam Boozer as a national problem.

If this was the first ranked win… buckle up.
The Blue Devils are only warming up.
