Newcastle hope to sign the 25-year-old Liverpool player this summer, according to his agent.

According to football agent Haydn Dodge, Newcastle United are interested in signing Liverpool defender Joe Gomez

The behind-the-scenes official revealed the Magpies’ interest in the 25-year-old in an interview with Caught Offside.

“It is well known that Newcastle United have long admired defender Joe Gomez, as they look to bolster their center-half options ahead of several players expiring this summer.”

Former Liverpool player Jose Enrique has stated that he would personally sell the Premier League winner for around £25 million.

Gomez joined the Merseyside club at the age of 18 from Charlton Athletic for a fee of £3.5 million.

Newcastle has expressed interest in Gomez.
It is not unfair to say that this has not been Gomez’s best season at Liverpool.

The 25-year-old has made 29 appearances this season, coming into the team at various points due to injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate. This includes 19 Premier League matches and five more in the Champions League.

However, the centre-back has frequently looked shaky, and he has been responsible for the Reds conceding on several occasions.

Fans who have been frustrated by his lack of form have begun to call for his inclusion in Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
