Match officials for Sky Sports: The interaction between video assistant referee Stuart Attwell and on field referee John Brooks was broadcast on the show “Mic’d Up,” which features Professional Game Match Officials Limited chief refereeing officer Howard Webb and is hosted by former Newcastle and Liverpool striker Michael Owen. The goal of the show was to clarify the call.

Attwell, VAR, expressed following Van Dijk’s test on Isak: APP, or the attack on possession phase. Possibility of an offside call Possible DOGSO (delaying an obvious opportunity to score a goal).

Outside, outside, outside the box was Brooks’ response. It is also a red card. The man has been given a red card because he is finished.

Attwell urged Brooks to delay issuing the red card while Brooks was evaluating a possible offside against Isak and the challenge by Van Dijk.

Brooks seemed confident in his decision to fire the Liverpool captain, as he stated. No. The man is his entry point. Through the man, he plays the ball. He gets through the man.

Attwell continued: On VAR” Alright, could you at any point change the point of the camera? Please offer a different point of view regarding the contact.

Okay, it looks like a mistake. Brooksy, I’m pleased with the foul; Stuart is it. Standby will be checked with only sanction and APP.

Okay, so I’ll be content with that… freeze it where it is. Okay, so the ball will hit him in the front.

The attacker is in position without the need to move. He is moving directly into the penalty area, so that’s fine.

Brooks informed Van Dijk in the interim on the field: They will evaluate the decision. However, he is going inside.

They will verify one thing after another. Just pause! I will inform you immediately if you need to leave. They just checked the area, and it appears to be a foul.

Don’t make poor decisions. You will be dismissed, so pay attention, unless he (Isak) is wrong. It has very few options.

The VAR check confirmed that Isak received a red card for a foul on Van Dijk outside of the penalty area.

Van Dijk served his one-match suspension against Aston Estate throughout the end of the week, yet the Football Affiliation has blamed him for utilizing compromising language toward Creeks, so he could deal with extra repercussion.

Given the previously unseen footage, Webb praised the decision-making and efficiency of VAR in this instance.

He stated, “We think it is a good communication of a foul by John Brooks and we see in the end Van Dijk does play the ball but, to get there, he clearly kicks through the foot of Isak and it denies a goalscoring opportunity.” Van Dijk played the ball in the end. He added, “We think it is a decent correspondence of a foul by John Creeks.”

“The way that that would have been a yellow card for an endeavor to play the ball or challenge for the ball in the punishment region doesn’t safeguard Van Dijk. DOGSO must still receive a red card for it because it is not in the penalty area.
