Michael Owen has announced his Premier League table prediction for the upcoming season, and among other bold positions, it is bad news for Spurs fans
Michael Owen has published his Premier League 2023/24 table predictions, which are particularly concerning for Tottenham Hotspur fans.
The former Premier League striker has made a lot of surprising predictions about relegation and the top four fight.
But arguably the least controversial prediction is that he will pick last season’s champions Manchester City to retain the title, ahead of Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United, who he believes will finish in that order.
Owen spent his Premier League career with Liverpool, Manchester United, and Newcastle United, however the Toon are his lone former club.
Owen believes the Magpies will finish seventh despite finishing fourth last season, possibly because Eddie Howe’s team will suffer from playing Champions League football.
However, they are still expected to finish third in the Premier League, behind Chelsea and Aston Villa, whom he has backed to win the Europa League.
This results in Spurs’ glaring absence from Europe for the second season in a row, with Owen placing Ange Postecoglou’s team in 9th place, below Brighton & Hove Albion, who will play Europa League football this season.
Although Owen did not explain his decisions, the potential departure of Harry Kane, who is the subject of a new £86 million plus add-ons deal from Bayern Munich, could be a major factor.

However, the two-time Golden Boot winner’s predictions are also bad news for Wolves supporters, who will see their team picked for relegation alongside promoted teams Sheffield United and Luton Town.
While Championship winners Burnley are in 16th place, one spot ahead of Bournemouth, whose new manager Andoni Iraola has yet to manage in England.
latest season’s relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest and Everton are as high as 13th and 12th, respectively, with Brentford the latest team to clinch a top-half slot.
