Meet Makayla Timpson: Indiana Fever’s Newest Force of Nature  Shot-Blocker, Rebound Queen, and Small-Town Legend

IT’S OFFICIAL. The Indiana Fever just got a whole lot tougher  and a whole lot more heart. Meet Makayla Timpson, the pride of Edison, Georgia (population: 1,173), and the newest member of the WNBA’s most exciting young roster.

From the small-town streets of southwest Georgia to the national spotlight, Timpson’s journey is as gritty as her game. And now, she’s bringing that fire to the pros.

Dominance in the Paint and on the Boards

Nicknamed “KK” and lovingly referred to as “Lil Tash” due to her mentorship with WNBA star Natasha Howard Timpson is a shot-blocking menace, a rebounding demon, and a rising star with a soft touch in the mid-range and a warrior’s mentality.

At Florida State University, Timpson was nothing short of legendary:

  • 1,706 career points
  • 1,094 rebounds
  • 290 blocks
  • FSU’s all-time leader in double-doubles (47)
  • National Semifinalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year

That’s not just dominance that’s a full-blown résumé for greatness.

More Than a Player A Storybook Journey

Makayla’s story is the kind fans rally behind. Hailing from a town most people couldn’t find on a map, she turned Edison into a launchpad. With raw talent and relentless hustle, she powered through high school stardom and left an indelible legacy at FSU.

She’s been mentored for years by three-time WNBA champ Natasha Howard, who also starred at FSU. Their bond goes far beyond basketball  and now, as KK steps into the pros, she does so with the blueprint and belief of a mentor who’s already walked that path.

The Fever Just Got Hotter

The Indiana Fever are already home to future legends like Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston, but adding Timpson to that mix brings serious interior muscle and defensive tenacity. Expect her to become a fan favorite fast diving for loose balls, swatting shots into the stands, and pulling down boards with authority.

She plays with a heart of gold but a game made of steel.

What’s Next for KK?

With her pro dreams now reality, all eyes are on how Timpson will adjust to the WNBA. But if her college career, small-town resilience, and elite mentorship are any indication, she’s just getting started.

Makayla Timpson isn’t just the newest member of the Indiana Fever. She’s a future problem for every WNBA frontcourt. And she’s ready.

Welcome to the league, KK. Let’s get to work.
