“When Liverpool signed him, I was overjoyed. Konate is such a talented athlete.

There were rumors out of France at the beginning of January that Real Madrid was considering signing Konate.
Konate leaving Liverpool so soon after joining would be unexpected, and Skrtel would undoubtedly be disappointed.
Any prospective buyers would be deterred by his injury history for the time being, but Liverpool will be desperate for him to regain his full fitness.
When active, he is Virgil van Dijk and Liverpool’s best option.
Given that Joel Matip and Joe Gomez have also experienced injury issues, Liverpool may require a backup center-back in the summer.
