Mark Pope’s first season at Kentucky reveals new additions to the transfer portal.

Following a Sweet 16 run in the NCAA Tournament, Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats have had a standout offseason

Kentucky has been one of the most active programs in the transfer portal, and while the portal is now closed for new entries, plenty of players are still seeking new teams. Pope and his staff remain focused on strengthening the roster, though they’re already pleased with the progress made.

This past weekend, the Wildcats officially introduced four new transfers as part of their ongoing rebuild—Denzel Aberdeen (Florida), Jaland Lowe (Pittsburgh), Mouhamed Dioubate (Alabama), and Kam Williams (Tulane).

Aberdeen, who played three seasons with the Florida Gators and appeared in 83 games, brings SEC experience and was part of Florida’s 2025 national title team. He averaged 7.7 points per game last season. Lowe joins from Pitt, where he started 50 games over two seasons and led the Panthers with 16.8 points per game this past year, despite an early exit in the ACC Tournament.

Williams, a 6-foot-8 guard, comes from Tulane, where he posted 9.3 points per game across 33 contests in 2024–25. Dioubate, a 6-foot-7 forward from Alabama, appeared in 70 games with the Crimson Tide, averaging 7.2 points and 5.9 rebounds in 16 minutes per game. He chipped in six points in Alabama’s Elite Eight loss to Duke.

A fifth transfer, Jayden Quaintance, wasn’t present for the event in Lexington but is expected to arrive on campus later this summer.
