According to reports, Manchester United will send scouts to study Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund after their initial proposal was rejected.
Erik ten Hag is desperate for a striker this summer, and Manchester United have been connected with a number of forwards.
Hojlund is one of Europe’s most promising prospects and has been connected with a number of big teams, including Chelsea.
It was recently revealed that the 20-year-old might cost as much as £86 million this summer. Man United were taken aback by the news, as they had believed he would be available for roughly £45 million.
Because he is under contract with the Italian club until 2027, they have a strong negotiating position.
According to TuttoAtalanta, a Premier League club’s initial proposal of €35 million has been’rejected,’ with Manchester United said to be the likely bidder.
While Manchester United are unlikely to pay a high price for Hojlund, they will send scouts to monitor him on international duty.
According to Sport Witness, the club will have’scouts in attendance’ for Denmark’s match against Northern Ireland in order to ‘have a closer look’ at the striker.
Ten Hag looks to be a great supporter of Hojlund, but if Atalanta maintains their high price, they will almost certainly contemplate canceling the purchase.
Hojlund has responded to reports tying him to the Premier League, although he hasn’t said much.
“It’s a big club, so I must have done something right if they’re interested,” the attacker told Tipsbladet.
“We’ll have to wait and see what happens.” since you can see and hear, I believe a lot will happen to a number of attackers this summer, since many teams are hunting for a no. 9. Something will undoubtedly happen there, and we’ll have to wait and see if I’m a part of it.
“I’m delighted to be with Atalanta, and we’ve qualified for Europe.” I’ve found myself in a pretty excellent situation here, so we’ll have to wait and see.”
Man United have also been connected with Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen, both of whom would be expensive signings.
Because strikers are in great demand this summer, Manchester United will have to pay a premium for any attackers they are interested in.
