According to Calciomercato, Juventus must ‘watch out’ in the race for Koopmeiners after Liverpool has taken the first steps toward signing him.

The Serie A heavyweights want Koopmeiners to fill the potential void left by Leandro Paredes and Adrien Rabiot, but Liverpool is also interested. He is valued between £30 and £35 million.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis MacAlliser in recent weeks, but a deal appears far from certain at the moment.

The Athletic claim that the midfielder’s representatives have not reached an agreement with any club, and that if he leaves Brighton, he wants to play in the Champions League.

Liverpool is currently in fifth place in the Premier League. The Reds must win their final two games and hope that either Manchester United or Newcastle United drop four points.

As a result, there is a good chance they will not play in the Champions League. In that case, they may lose Mac Allister to one of their European rivals.

Meanwhile, Koopmeiners could be one of the alternatives being considered. The Dutchman has had a successful season in Atlanta. In 32 games, he has 7 goals and 3 assists.

He, like Mac Allister, can play across the midfield, and his versatility could be a deciding factor in Liverpool’s decision to sign him.

The transfer fee is well within their means, but whether the club will make a move remains to be seen. Koopmeiners is a hardworking midfielder whose main strength is not passing.

He has been dispossessed an astonishing 17 times in Serie A. This statistic should worry Liverpool because the Premier League is a more competitive league than Serie A.
