It is no secret that Liverpool is looking to add several midfield reinforcements this summer. Matheus Nunes, a Portuguese international, was supposedly a target. According to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds have moved on from the 24-year-old and are now focusing on other players.
Liverpool have already signed Alexis MacAllister from Brighton & Hove Albion, and Manu Kone and Khephren Thuram are rumored to be on their radar. They had Nunes on their radar a few weeks ago. They appear to have abandoned their pursuit of the Premier League midfielder.
The 24-year-old has been a standout performer for Wolves and may have been a good signing for Liverpool. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool can sufficiently reinforce their midfield before the summer transfer window shuts.
Liverpool had a dismal season in 2022/23, missing out on Champions League qualification. They will be looking to return to the top four as soon as possible and contend for significant honours.
