Liverpool is ready to sell, according to sources. As a comprehensive revamp begins, Joel Matip and another outstanding defender are being replaced

According to Football Insider, Liverpool will consider bids for Joel Matip this summer as the countdown to the end of his time at the club begins.

The 31-year-old has slid to fourth-choice center-back at Anfield this season but has still been a regular starter due to Jurgen Klopp’s team’s ailments.

However, his performances have clearly declined at a time when so many of Liverpool’s players are struggling.

Liverpool are expected to let Matip and fellow center-back Nat Phillips leave this summer, and they will be available to suitors.

As a result, the Merseysiders will be looking for at least one veteran centre-back as they prepare for what might be a significant summer revamp.

Matip has a contract until the summer of 2024 and has been a huge hit at Anfield since coming on a free transfer from Schalke in 2016.

He has won all of Liverpool’s major titles and is a cult figure in the fans due to his distinctive and effective playing style.

However, there has been a clear decrease this season, as evidenced by Liverpool’s 3-0 defeat to Wolves on Saturday.

The visitors dominated for much of the game, especially in the second half, but struggled to deal with crosses and counter-attacks as their nightmare streak continues.
