Liverpool is one of the clubs interested in signing Adama Bojang, a Gambian U20 forward.

Bojang made an impression at the recent U20 World Cup, scoring twice in Gambia‘s opening game against Honduras. Although he did not score in the last three games, he did assist his country in a surprise victory over France.

According to journalist Ed Aarons, their performances in Argentina have piqued the interest of clubs all around Europe. Aarons listed Liverpool as one of those who were impressed in a tweet yesterday.

Crystal Palace, Liverpool, and Chelsea are among several clubs interested in Gambia striker Adama Bojang, who scored twice at the Under-20 World Cup,” the journalist stated.

Eintracht Frankfurt, Wolves, and RB Leipzig are also interested in the 19-year-old, who is expected to cost around €3 million [£2.5 million] from Steve Biko FC in Gambia.”

Liverpool is interested in signing Bojang.
We can’t say we know much about Bojang. But, given the number of major teams interested in him, he must have something exceptional.

From Liverpool’s perspective, this isn’t the type of signing they make anymore.

It was formerly rather customary for the Reds to bring in highly regarded young players from all over the world. Many people will be unfamiliar with the names Gerardo Bruna, Dani Pacheco, and Andras Simon, but certain Reds fans will remember them negatively.

However, since Jurgen Klopp took over at Anfield, these signings have been far less regular. It’s possible that this is because of Brexit. It’s undeniable that Liverpool are increasingly interested in home-grown talents such as Harvey Elliott and Ben Doak.
But why shouldn’t they be up against Bojang? Young players with rising reputations who excel on the big stage.
Perhaps they believe it is preferable to let these young players develop and play elsewhere. Liverpool isn’t the easiest place to find game time. So that’s understandable.

But every now and then, you have to take a chance. The Reds would have little to lose and a lot to gain for £2.5 million. If they don’t get Bojang, it appears like someone else will.
