The midfielder is getting closer to joining Liverpool.
This week, Liverpool took another step forward in their pursuit of Ryan Gravenberch, with The Mirror suggesting that FSG will back Jurgen Klopp in his pursuit of the midfielder.
Is Ryan Gravenberch joining Liverpool?
The midfielder has just recently joined current club Bayern Munich, having joined the German giants at the start of the 2022/23 season after 72 appearances for Ajax. When the Bundesliga club opted to sign him, he was considered hot property, but the kid has yet to break into the first-team fold on a consistent basis.
He appeared in 24 league games for Bayern this season, assisting the club achieve a second consecutive Bundesliga title. However, Gravenberch only started three of those games, and he had no goals or assists – his lowest career totals.
However, the player has already demonstrated his ability to contribute, with seven and eight goal contributions in his past two seasons in the Netherlands. Both of those results occurred while the player appeared in over 30 league games, demonstrating that if he receives minutes on a regular basis, he can deliver.
What is Ryan Gravenberch’s worth?
Although no fee or formal bid has been announced, CIES Football Observatory estimates that the player is worth roughly 30 million Euros (or £25 million). It’s unclear if this is how much Bayern values him, but if so, it would be a steal for Liverpool.
Gravenberch is also highly regarded as a result of his time at Ajax, with football talent scout Jacek Kulig stating that he has a “huge future” in the game. He has yet to realize this since joining Bayern, although it has only been one season and he has had little opportunities. Gravenberch might prosper and live up to his full potential if given the chance at Liverpool.
