According to reports, Liverpool believes they now have a chance to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea for a low fee

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Reds are confident of luring the 24-year-old England international away from Premier League rivals Chelsea due to stalled contract talks, though Mauricio Pochettino’s arrival could still play a role.

While nothing has been finalized, Liverpool may still be in the driving seat to sign Mount, with the prospect of playing under Jurgen Klopp appealing to the Chelsea star, who may also be interested in resuming his career on Merseyside.

Mount has had a difficult two years at Chelsea, and while he remains a fan favorite at Stamford Bridge, the west London club may be forced to sell the 24-year-old, for which Liverpool will be willing to pay a premium.

While a bargain fee for Mount could still exceed £50 million or even £60 million, there’s no denying that the Chelsea man could be a fantastic coup for Liverpool, and Klopp will be the ideal manager to get the most out of the playmaker.

With Chelsea negotiations stalled, Liverpool must complete the Mount transaction.

Sometimes a player enters the market who appears to be a perfect fit for a specific team, and that appears to be the case with Mount and Liverpool this summer, with the 24-year-old a talent who was born to play for the Anfield club.

With Chelsea talks stalled, Liverpool may have a golden opportunity to bring Mount to Merseyside. With a potential bargain on the table, Klopp and his team will have to work extra hard to bring the England international up north.
