Liverpool reportedly believes they now have a chance to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea for a low fee

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Reds are confident of luring the 24-year-old England international away from their Premier League rivals due to stalled contract talks between Mount and Chelsea, though Mauricio Pochettino’s arrival could still play a role.

While nothing is final at this point, Liverpool could still be in the driving seat to sign Mount, with the prospect of playing under Jurgen Klopp an appealing one for the Chelsea star, who could also be interested in resuming his career on Merseyside.

Mount has had a difficult two years at Chelsea, and while the midfielder remains a fan favorite at Stamford Bridge, the west London club may soon be forced to sell the 24-year-old, for which Liverpool will be willing to pay a premium.

Indeed, while a bargain fee for Mount could still amount to more than £50 million or even £60 million, there’s no denying that the Chelsea man could be a fantastic coup for Liverpool, and Klopp will be the ideal manager to get the most out of the playmaker.

With Chelsea talks stalled, Liverpool must complete the Mount deal.

Sometimes a player enters the market who appears to be a perfect fit for a specific team, and in the case of Mount and Liverpool, that appears to be the case this summer, with the 24-year-old a talent who was born to play for the Anfield club.

With Chelsea talks stalled, Liverpool may have a golden opportunity to bring Mount to Merseyside, and with a potential bargain on the table, Klopp and his team will have to work overtime to bring the England international up north to Merseyside.
