Juventus is reportedly interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Roberto Firmino, but the Reds do not need to sell after profiting from Takumi Minamino and Sadio Mane

Every Premier League defense was plagued by a trio of attacking players.

A lethal trio that misbehaved when up against Europe’s best teams.

a trio who ensured Liverpool conquered the world as well as the continent.

The end of an era.

Sadio Mane, Mo Salah, and Roberto Firmino are names that will live on in Anfield history.

They looked like the Red Arrows at their most ferocious. Liverpool, who played under Jurgen Klopp for five years, returned to the pinnacle of football and won every trophy available as a result of their combined 338 goals and 155 assists.

That chapter, however, has been definitively closed with Mane’s move to Bayern Munich.

Furthermore, reports this summer raised the possibility of further dismantling the trio.

Despite the fact that his future was once uncertain, Salah ended any talk of leaving by signing a lucrative new contract through 2025.

Firmino’s departure has recently been linked.

According to reports, Juventus has made a €23 million bid for the Brazilian, which Liverpool is considering.

Firmino was the most silent of the three. His game was, and continues to be, more about craft and cunning than being a consistent goal scorer.

However, with Darwin Nunez’s potential £85 million transfer from Benfica and Diogo Jota’s rapid development, there has been speculation about Firmino’s declining influence.

Firmino was widely regarded as the fifth-best forward after the January signing of Luis Diaz. Nunez kept his position after signing.

Given that Firmino has less than a year left on his contract, some may believe it is prudent to cash in on him this summer.

That’s preferable to losing him as a free agent, especially after a season in which he only made 10 Premier League starts and scored 11 goals in 35 appearances.

However, selling Firmino would go completely against Klopp’s wishes.

Firmino, of course, is no longer the dependable starter he once was. His name is no longer merely a formality on the roster.

Pre-season impressions
However, Firmino’s importance to the team has been highlighted in the early preseason games.

Even though last term was frustrating and full of setbacks, the 30-year-old has undoubtedly benefited from a long break.

Firmino had five weeks to recover after being passed over for Brazil duty in June.

As a result, it’s understandable that Firmino has started all three friendly matches and has looked good. His quick movements and skillful ball control have returned, as evidenced by his assist on Salah’s first goal against RB Leipzig.

Nunez will eventually be the first-choice striker, but he, like many of Klopp’s previous signings, will need time to adjust.

Despite scoring four goals against Leipzig, the Uruguayan is still adjusting to his new surroundings. It would be incorrect to assume that everything has already come together.

Jota is currently out with a hamstring injury, and his availability for the season opener against Fulham on Saturday, August 6, is unknown.

At this point, many fans expect Firmino to lead the charge at Craven Cottage.

Furthermore, Klopp would not want to limit his options if there was a need for depth.

Liverpool’s attacking prowess was a major reason why they came agonizingly close to an unprecedented quadruple last season.

Klopp had never seen quality at the top end of the pitch like it in his previous six years in charge.

Salah, Jota, Mane, Firmino, and Diaz, on the other hand, represented a veritable gold mine of options.

Now that he knows what it’s like to have scarce resources in the final third, the German will recoil at the prospect of having them again.

Liverpool has already profited up to £50 million from the transfer market sales of Sadio Mane and Takumi Minamino. They have recovered a significant portion of the Nunez fee.

Fabio Carvalho and Harvey Elliott are both intriguing young players with promising careers. So far in preseason, the young team has been the standout.

However, you should never underestimate the value of experience. Firmino will play an important role.
