According to a new report from Spanish outlet Sport, the Reds are stepping up their efforts to sign Gabri Veiga.
According to the report, Liverpool has ‘insisted’ on signing the Celta Vigo prodigy “from day one.”
The Reds appear to have not only met the club’s demands, but also made Veiga a higher offer.
According to the report, Liverpool has’significantly raised the contractual conditions offered to the footballer’.
As a result, the Reds now have ‘a certain advantage over the rest of the rivals’ for Veiga’s signature.
However, Liverpool has yet to reach an agreement, so the race appears to be open.

Veiga has been one of La Liga’s most promising young players this season.
In 35 appearances in Spain’s top flight, he has nine goals and four assists.
Veiga’s efforts earned him a spot on ESPN’s list of the 39 best footballers under the age of 21.
He appears to be an excellent choice for a Liverpool team in need of a midfield overhaul.
Veiga is expected to see a lot of action at Anfield.
Liverpool, however, is not alone in the race. Arsenal and Newcastle are also said to be interested.
