According to Tuttosport, Liverpool have made an initial £26 million [€30 million] bid for Perr Schuurs this summer
The Reds have a long-term interest in the Dutchman, having been linked with a bid for him last summer. They never formalised their interest, and in the end, Torino paid £8 million to Ajax Amsterdam for the defender.
The 23-year-old had a fantastic debut season in Serie A last season and has quickly established himself as a key member of Ivan Juric’s starting eleven.
After being impressed by Schuurs’ performances for Torino, it appears Liverpool has opted to rekindle their interest in purchasing the defender in current transfer window to improve their backline.
According to Tuttosport (via Sport Witness), Liverpool have already presented an initial price of £26m [€30m] for Schuurs, but Torino have rejected the bid because they want at least £34m [€40m] to allow their star player depart.

According to the source, despite the Bulls’ rejection of their initial offer, Liverpool have not lost up on signing the defender and are planning to present a stronger proposal in the coming days.
However, according to the Italian newspaper, signing Schuurs will be difficult for Liverpool because Napoli is also planning a move for him during this transfer window.
According to reports, Liverpool are looking to recruit a new center-back to replace Virgil van Dijk, who will turn 32 next week.
Several defenders, including Micky van de Ven, Goncalo Inácio, and Antonio Silva, have been linked with a move to Anfield in recent months. Schuurs, on the other hand, is now emerging as a real target.
The Torino star is quick, good in the air, comfortable playing out from the back, makes solid defensive contributions, and reads the game effectively.
He is a really skilled player with a lot of promise. So, if Liverpool is able to gain his signature during this transfer window, he would be a fantastic signing.
