With their inconsistency this season, Real Madrid will have a lot of work to do in the summer transfer market as they prepare for the 2023/24 season
Madrid needs to fill at least four positions: right-back, left-back, center-back, and right-wing. As a possible replacement/backup for Karim Benzema.
They also have their work cut out for them within the squad, with four significant contracts expiring in the summer. Three are in midfield, with Dani Ceballos, Toni Kroos, and Luka Modric all set to become free agents.
Marco Asensio is another player whose future is uncertain. Madrid has advised the winger that he is not expected to start and that his future may lie elsewhere.
According to Jacque Talbot, Liverpool is one of the clubs interested in signing Asensio this summer.
Asensio, who is available on a free transfer, might be crucial for Pool, especially with Roberto Firmino poised to depart the club in the summer. Pep Lijnders admires the Spaniard as well.
Asensio is primarily a right winger, but he can also play centrally as a false 9. His finishing and ball-striking are important aspects of his game, and he might help Liverpool, which is battling to get the most out of misfiring strikers Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo.
But, Asensio is not in the best of shape. He has appeared in 18 league games, making seven starts, and scoring four goals.
Liverpool and Real Madrid are reportedly set to be involved in the competition to capture Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund in the summer. Manchester City is also interested in the Englishman, who is valued at more than €130 million.
