Mateusz Musialowski, a Polish winger, may be allowed to leave Liverpool this summer, at least on loan, according to a source that claims conversations have been undertaken with two teams.

Musialowski has drawn attention throughout the course of his three years at Liverpool, but he has had trouble turning that interest into a breakthrough.

The Polish club’s junior team recruited the 19-year-old winger from SMS Lodz in 2020 after he scored 130 goals in 80 games. The academy was impressed by his remarkable technique.

He has occasionally trained with Jurgen Klopp‘s first squad but never consistently, and his lone appearance was in the 3-0 friendly loss to Strasbourg last summer.

He made 22 appearances for the under-21s last year, but only started 13 of them. He scored three goals during that time.

Musialowski’s contract expires in 2024, so it wouldn’t be shocking to see him leave this summer. According to the Polish site WP SportoweFakty, he may go back to his home nation.

According to their sources, negotiations have been initiated with two Ekstraklasa teams, one of which is Gornik Zabrze, while the other is either Widzew Lodz or LKS Lodz.

Although it has been claimed that the arrangement may be a loan, Musialowski would probably need to accept a contract extension before leaving.

In order to sell him later, as is sometimes the case with players in their last year of contracts, Liverpool would be able to preserve his worth by doing that.

During the previous summer, Rakow Czestochowa and Slask Wroclaw were the teams mentioned in connection with Musialowski’s potential return to Poland.
The reason a deal went through is unknown, however it might have been because of previous deals because teammates Max Woltman, Fidel O’Rourke, Jack Bearne, and James Balagizi ultimately departed on loan.

When Musialowski joined Liverpool, he was saddled with the moniker “the Polish Messi,” which undoubtedly raised expectations.

Although his attacking skill is undeniable, Merseyside may have had more difficulty settling him as a regular option due to his off-the-ball work than his on-the-ball play.
