The most recent information about Steven Gerrard’s next probable management role.

According to the latest speculations, Steven Gerrard‘s next management role might be on the horizon. Following many connections throughout the world, the Liverpool great is poised to be named the next head coach of Saudi Arabia side Al-Etiffaq.

According to writer Romain Molina, Gerrard is ‘now in Saudi Arabia’ to meet with Al-Etiffaq and apparently finalize discussions. If the discussions are successful, the former midfielder will be the next high-profile Saudi acquisition to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr.

This Gerrard revelation comes after the Liverpool legend was linked to a variety of English clubs, including relegated Leeds United and Leicester City. He was also mentioned as a possible successor to Steve Cooper at Nottingham Forest earlier this year, as well as being on the shortlist for the post at Olympiacos.

Gerrard has been without a job since being fired by Aston Villa in October of last year. The 43-year-old moved to the West Midlands following three years as Rangers manager, where he led the club to the Scottish Premiership title in 2020/21.
However, his Premier League debut was a struggle, with 13 wins, 19 defeats, and eight draws in 40 games as Villa manager. Gerrard was fired by the team in October following a dismal run of results in the first 12 games of the 2022/23 season.

If he is named the next manager of Al-Etiffaq, Gerrard will be seeking to bounce back from his time away from football and get some significant results under his belt to re-establish himself.
