It is time for Liverpool to recover from a poor season in which they finished 22 points behind champions Manchester City and four points outside the Champions League spots.

Expect early business so that Jurgen Klopp can have a fully prepared group for pre-season in July.

Where do they wish to improve?
The midfield is a major emphasis area for Liverpool’s recruitment personnel, and preparations have been underway since May. According to the scenario, they intend to sign three players for the center of the field.
Another important item for Jurgen Klopp is to bring in a new center-back after the team was exposed last season when first-choice players were absent.

Who could they possibly sign?
The first objective was to land Brighton’s Alexis MacAllister, but at the same time, they were hoping for a swift decision from Bayern Munich on Ryan Gravenberch. They were eager to sign Mason Mount but realized that things were not going well.

Since giving up on Jude Bellingham a few months ago, the club has increased their interest in Manu Kone of Borussia Monchengladbach, with reports suggesting he could be available for £34 million, but Khephren Thuram is a player they have scouted extensively for some time, and Joao Palhinha is on the list but has not been actively pursued. Matheus Nunes and Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse remain players of interest. Moises Caicedo has been mentioned, but his price tag concerns them at a time when they are seeking for good value.

Jorg Schmadtke, the club’s new sporting director, is collaborating with Klopp to speed planning around the club’s goals.
This summer, who is your ideal signing?
Gravenberch has been a target for Klopp for some time, and his qualities in the center of the park would be excellent for giving this side a sense of connectedness that was lacking last season. He is only 21 years old, but his technical skill mixed with positional awareness would be ideal for how Klopp would shape him.

The most difficult thing this summer will be making early signings. Liverpool requires a successful first four weeks of current window in order to be fully prepared for the upcoming season. Early delays will raise further questions about Klopp’s request that his new players arrive in plenty of time for the new season to begin. If their initial goals are not met, Liverpool will need to act soon.
