Liverpool has been urged to sign a £50 million Premier League player and pair him with Darwin Nunez.

Jurgen Klopp should do everything in his power to bring Mason Mount to Liverpool

Former Reds striker Dean Saunders believes this. Saunders told TalkSPORT today that Liverpool should be all over Mount’s current contract dispute at Chelsea.

“Mason Mount, Liverpool – or Manchester United – should sign him. I believe his father is handling his contract; if they can’t work it out, the door is open. Consider this: what if Liverpool had Bellingham and Mount in midfield? “Two good guys,” the analyst added. “If you want to compete, you have to put your hand in your pocket.”

Although Mount would almost certainly be signed as a midfielder by Liverpool, Saunders feels he would thrive off the Reds’ front three. Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, and others.

“I believe he should attend Liverpool. You can slot him in there, joining the front three and getting on the ball. “He’s got a good football brain,” the 58-year-old insisted.

Mount rumors continue to circulate.

The Mount to Liverpool train is currently so crowded that people are clutching to the sides. The concept clearly appears to be gaining traction.

At this point, it appears to be little more than a notion. According to Stan Collymore, discussions between Liverpool and Chelsea have already begun. Nevertheless, no other outlet has corroborated this.

Instead, it appears like Liverpool is keeping a careful eye on whether Mount signs a new contract.

With the 24-year-discussions old’s with Chelsea reportedly on hold until the end of the season, the Reds have an opportunity to make their case.

According to reports, Mount would not need much convincing to join Liverpool. With a cost being provisionally proposed at £50 million, it appears that a deal is possible.

Saunders makes some good arguments about where to play him. The England man has a superb football sense and is effective at hooking up with the forwards around him. But you get the impression that Jürgen Klopp sees Mount as a wandering midfielder, similar to how he employed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at his best. One thing is certain: this isn’t the last we’ll hear of it.
