When Jurgen Klopp decides to leave Anfield, Liverpool may have already identified their ideal replacement
Klopp’s contract at Liverpool expires in the summer of 2026, after which he will have spent 11 years with the club.
Throughout his tenure at Anfield, the German has inspired a revolution, with Liverpool winning the Premier League and the Champions League under his leadership.
Klopp intimated earlier this year (quotes via Goal) that he doesn’t know whether he’ll do something completely different after leaving Liverpool. “I’d like to keep all of my options open.”
The 56-year-old has previously been connected to the Germany position, but has turned it down.

When Klopp leaves Anfield, the Reds will need a succession plan in place, and they may already have the ideal option.
Liverpool already has great conditions. Jurgen Klopp’s replacement
One possibility for Reds fans, at least in the early days of Klopp’s rule, was that Liverpool great Steven Gerrard would take over as manager.
Rangers won the Scottish Premiership for the first time in ten years thanks to the former England captain.
That achievement gained him the job at Aston Villa, but Gerrard struggled after the departure of prominent assistant Michael Beale and was ousted with the club on the verge of relegation. Unai Emery, his successor, guided a good squad to the Europa League.
