According to the French outlet Footmercato, Liverpool have begun talks with Tottenham Hotspur target and Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat
After impressing for Morocco at last year’s Qatar World Cup, the 26-year-old has piqued the interest of major European clubs. The midfielder was a key member of Walid Regregui’s team, which finished fourth overall.

In January, Amrabat was heavily linked with a move away from Fiorentina, but a deal never materialized. The African, who is valued at around £22 million by Transfermarkt, has entered the final 16 months of his current contract and has yet to sign an extension with Vincenzo Italiano’s side.
Liverpool are interested in signing Amrabat, according to Footmercato, and have held talks with the player’s representatives about a possible summer move to Anfield.
According to the report, the Merseyside club will face stiff competition from Tottenham Hotspur in completing any potential deal for Amrabat, as the north London club is also interested in signing the highly-rated midfielder.

If the midfielder does not sign a new contract in the coming months, Italiano’s side will be forced to sell him before his value plummets. It appears that Liverpool and Tottenham are looking to take advantage of this situation and sign the Fiorentina star for a bargain this summer.
After struggling to show their best this season, it has been suggested that the Merseyside club are keen on revamping their squad this summer, with Jurgen Klopp prioritizing the engine room. Several players have been linked with a summer move to Anfield, with Amrabat emerging as a serious target.
Spurs, on the other hand, have been reported to be interested in strengthening their squad for next season. However, the north Londoners are currently without a manager following Antonio Conte’s departure, so any transfer dealings may be hampered.

As a result, Liverpool may be a better fit for Amrabat than Tottenham, but we’ll have to wait and see what happens in the coming weeks.
