The Fluminense midfielder has been “sold on a move to Anfield.”

According to Sky Sports reporter Melissa Reddy, Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Fluminense midfielder Andre, who is “sold on a transfer to Anfield” this summer.

Who is Liverpool bringing in this summer?

Jurgen Klopp is presently seeking midfield prospects, having previously remarked that Liverpool do not have a “proven No 6” in their team, but he is battling to complete a deal for Romeo Lavia, with Southampton rejecting two bids.

If the Saints do not lower their asking price of £50 million, the Reds are willing to investigate other possibilities, including a move for Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch and Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips.

The Merseysiders are also considering some prospects from farther away, with Reddy confirming that they have been monitoring Andre since his international breakthrough.

“The club’s interest in Andre began when he was capped by Brazil,” a Sky Sports reporter claimed. Fluminense are hesitant to let Andre leave this summer, but the player is set on joining Liverpool.

“A fee of around £20 million has been proposed.”

Liverpool saw a new offer for Romeo Lavia rejected by Southampton on Tuesday and will continue to look at other options if the Belgian’s £50 million valuation cannot be lowered.”

“Ideally, two new midfielders and a defender would be added to Jurgen Klopp’s squad before the transfer window closes.”

Reddy has since confirmed on Twitter that communication has been made with Fluminense to negotiate a prospective transfer, writing:

“A discussion about Romeo Lavia has begun between Southampton and Liverpool.” He wants to relocate, but a fee compromise is still required. LFC is considering other options. Fluminense is in talks to sign Andre. The club is seeking for two profiles: controller and progressing destroyer.”

Andre, how good are you?
The 22-year-old is quite outstanding with the ball, averaging a pass-completion percentage of 93.1% per 90 over the past year, putting him in the 99th percentile among his positional peers.

As such, the Brazilian definitely matches the description of a “controller” in midfield, and he is also capable of driving the ball forward, ranking in the 93rd percentile for successful take-ons, having averaged 1.69 per 90 for Fluminense in the previous season.

With captain Jordan Henderson having recently departed the club to join Al-Ettifaq, Klopp may be looking to bring in individuals capable of filling the vacuum left in the squad, and Andre might accomplish just that, having been dubbed a “leader” by football talent scouts.

Despite being only 22 years old, the maestro already has a lot of first-team experience, having made 145 appearances for Fluminense, albeit he may need some time to adjust to the Premier League.

Lavia, on the other hand, has already shown himself in the Premier League, appearing in 29 games for Southampton last season, and the Belgian should remain Liverpool’s primary priority.

However, numerous fresh midfield reinforcements are required, thus both players could be sought in the last month of the transfer market.
