Liverpool have undertaken ‘good conversations’ with the camp of Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenerch, but the Bundesliga giants are unwilling to move the Dutchman.

The Reds have already signed Alexis MacAllister from Brighton, but they hope to add at least one more midfielder this summer.

James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all departed on free transfers, and the midfield was already seen to be in need of an improvement.

Khephren Thuram of Nice, Manu Kone of Borussia Monchengladbach, Celta Vigo‘s Gabri Veiga, and Southampton youngster Romeo Lavia are among those linked with a transfer to Anfield.

Gravenberch is also on their wanted list, and conversations between Liverpool and the Dutchman’s team have taken place.

According to the Athletic, there have been ‘good negotiations’ between the Premier League club and Gravenberch’s agents, although this does not suggest a deal is imminent.

It all hinges on if Bayern want to let rid of the 21-year-old, who is not for sale at this time.

The Netherlands international only started three Bundelisga games last season, but he appeared in 24 league games and six more in the Champions League.

However, two of those three starts have come after Thomas Tuchel took over as manager, indicating that the former Chelsea manager has high regard for the young Dutchman.

Tuchel remarked of Gravenberch, “I see his qualities in training.” ‘He’s doing well in training. He’s a No. 8 with excellent turning and dribbling skills. It’s time to be patient now. It’s a battle to be there.’
