According to the most recent reports, Liverpool have agreed a deal with Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram as Jurgen Klopp seeks to sign a second player this summer
After recently acquiring Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister, Liverpool is hard at work negotiating their next agreement.
The Reds’ midfield will receive a much-needed boost with the addition of Mac Allister, but Klopp wants to add another player to the squad.
Thuram has been a player of interest for a while, and the most recent reports claim that Liverpool and Thuram are already in advanced negotiations.
The French midfielder has’verbally agreed to personal terms’ with Liverpool, claims Football Transfers.
The clubs are currently negotiating a transfer fee as Nice tries to get the most cash for one of their prized players.
Since Thuram has a deal with the French club through 2025, they are in a good position to haggle over his fee.
The 22-year-old is thought to be worth £55 million, which Nice is determined to obtain in one lump sum.
Liverpool should have more cash on hand now that they’ve acquired Mac Allister for only £35 million.
The acquisition of Thuram would be a significant boost for Liverpool heading into the following campaign and a sign of their aspirations.
This Ligue 1 season, the Nice midfielder played in 35 games and registered two goals and four assists.
However, he performs some of his best work when not in control of the ball, winning 1.5 tackles on average per game.
The 22-year-old has received a glowing report from Didier Digard, who has been in charge of the French team since January.
Didier Digard said, “Khephren’s great. He works very hard and pays close attention.
“On days off, he is at the training facility. He completes high-intensity training and recovers quickly for back-to-back games.
He pays attention and puts in effort. He can still do better, but people want him. He simply devours additional sessions and video analysis.
Because he assumes a leadership position, he also provides advice to others. He is also becoming aware of who he is as a person.
The Reds are in a strong position to sign Thuram, and Liverpool fans will be eager to see him in action if the negotiations go smoothly.
