Leeds United are still receiving inquiries from Turkish clubs interested in signing Helder Costa as manager Daniel Farke attempts to sell before the Super Lig window shuts

According to Ben Jacobs, Leeds would prefer to sell Costa rather than keep the 29-year-old. He returned to Elland Road this summer after a loan spell with Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia. However, the forward has no future at West Yorkshire under Farke.

This summer, teams in Saudi Arabia, most notably Al-Taawoun and Al-Shabab, investigated the terms of Costa’s transfer. Despite Al-Taawoun communicating with his representation and Al-Shabab with Leeds, neither team reached an agreement before the Pro League transfer window closed.

Leeds seek to move Costa before the end of the Turkish transfer window.

Leeds are now hoping that a Turkish club can offer a tempting enough deal to entice Costa to leave. The Super Lig sales will come to an end on September 15. So the Elland Road locals only have a few days to work out a deal that will see the Angola international quit the team.

Costa might quit Leeds within the next week. However, no agreement is currently in the works. Turkish teams that approached the Whites have yet to shown genuine interest. While Costa’s decision to stay until January cannot be completely ruled out.

Costa has not played for Leeds United since August 2021, when he joined Valencia on loan for the 2021/22 season. During the winger’s stint at the Mestalla, he appeared 27 times. However, he was transferred to Al-Ittihad for 22/23, where he played 20 games for three goals and an assist.

Leeds are now hoping Costa will agree to a move to Turkey rather than completing the remaining year of his contract. When he joined the Whites for £16 million from Wolves in July 2020, he was given a four-year contract. After assisting in his loan promotion, Marcelo Bielsa purchased him.
