Klopp should not be concerned, as Liverpool remain strong favorites to land a proven Premier League playmaker from Arsenal.

Despite reports of Arsenal’s interest in the out-of-favor Chelsea midfielder, Liverpool remain the frontrunners to sign a top Premier League playmaker this summer

Mason Mount is expected to be in high demand this summer after failing to secure a regular starting spot under Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, and now Frank Lampard this season.

Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of Mount and has been keeping a close eye on developments regarding the player’s future at Stamford Bridge.

Mount’s performance levels have dropped this season compared to previous campaigns, despite the fact that he has not had many opportunities to showcase his abilities under three different Chelsea managers.

On Saturday, it was reported that Arsenal had held talks about relocating to The Emirates. However, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the Reds are still at the top of the queue for Mount’s signature.

“Despite reported interest from Arsenal in Mason Mount, Liverpool remain the favourites for the Chelsea midfielder as they consider Mount one of their priorities,” Romano told CaughtOffside.

“However, it all depends on Chelsea’s new contract negotiations as well as the Chelsea manager situation.” I believe it is not about Champions League football, but about the project; the real decision for Mount will be made in May/June, not now.”

The next Chelsea manager will be crucial to Mount’s future.
However, as Romano points out, there is still a slim chance that Mount will stay in west London.

Much will, of course, depend on who is appointed as Chelsea’s next manager.

Several names have been linked to the role, but it appears that both Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique are out.

Vincent Kompany may also be out of the running as Burnley try to tie down the Belgian to a new contract after leading them to promotion this season.

On Saturday, however, a surprise candidate emerged in the form of Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou.
