Liverpool are allegedly in talks with Bayern Munich to bring Benjamin Pavard to Anfield, with his arrival freeing up Trent Alexander-Arnold to move into a new advanced midfield role
With some excellent summer arrivals, the Merseysiders hope to put their disappointing 2022/23 season behind them. With a number of players already confirmed to leave Anfield and a hefty summer budget, Liverpool fans should expect a completely different XI next season.
They had, in fact, already signed No. 1 in the form of Alexis MacAllister. The World Cup winner has moved from Brighton, signing a five-year contract for far less than anyone expected.
Liverpool, on the other hand, is not content to rest on its laurels, and future expansions are already in the works. To that end, the Reds are hoping to sign at least two more midfielders, Khephren Thuram and Kouadio Kone.
When Jurgen Klopp chose to move Trent Alexander-Arnold to a more central position late last season, he was faced with a choice.
Last season, the full-back assisted nine Premier League goals, raising his career total to 64 on Merseyside. His defensive abilities are occasionally called into question, and he can look to be a weakness for the Reds against some of the better teams they face.
Late in the season, though, several brilliant performances in a more advanced role gave Klopp with hope.
Liverpool hopes to replace him with a new top-tier right-back to make the move more frequent.

And, with Bayern Munich apparently willing to let the 27-year-old leave for €40 million (£34 million), Liverpool has a lot of options.
According to German media, Liverpool has outbid Manchester United for Pavard’s signature.
Christian Falk, a well-known Bundesliga transfer expert, has described the Merseysiders as “hot candidates.”
For Caught Offside, Falk revealed, “Benjamin Pavard has informed the club that he wishes to leave in the summer.” “His agents are already in contact with other clubs,” including Liverpool, which is presently a serious contender.Chelsea and Barcelona were earlier said to be interested, as were AC Milan and Inter Milan from Italy.”
