Liverpool are interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, with the club aware that his future will be reviewed after he returns from international duty.

Gravenberch joined Bayern from Ajax in a £21 million trade last summer, but had a disappointing first season in Germany, with Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka obstructing his route to the starting lineup. The 21-year-old appeared in 32 games across all competitions, although only five of those were as a starter.

Bayern Munich recently announced the signing of Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig on a four-year contract, leading Gravenberch to emphasize that any update on his own future will come after the Under-21 European Championships, which end in early July.
Manchester United are also said to be interested in the midfielder, since Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag handed him his debut at Ajax and helped improve his skills. However, Liverpool‘s interest is thought to be more advanced, with the club poised to support Jurgen Klopp‘s transfer ambitions.

“In my opinion, he is an incredibly talented player,” Bayern president Herbert Hainer told Bild. That’s why we brought him with us. Toward the conclusion of the season, he saw more playing time. I’m confident he’ll see more action in the future.”
It comes after the midfielder told De Telegraaf: “There may be plans with me.” I haven’t really discussed it with the coach yet; that will happen after the [Under-21] European Championship, when I return from Georgia and Romania. Then we’ll see how it goes.”

Gravenberch, 21, made less than 100 first-team games for the Dutch giants under Ten Hag, who gave him his professional debut, before joining Bayern last summer. However, he has only appeared in a few games this season.
