Liverpool are supporters of Ryan Gravenberch, but they are still keen in signing Manu Kone

It remains to be seen whether Bayern Munich will back down from their refusal to sell the 21-year-old. According to Romano, conversations between the player, club, and manager will take place’soon.’

In the meanwhile, it appears that Liverpool will concentrate their efforts on bringing in Kone and his France U21 teammate Khephren Thuram.

“There is no doubt that Liverpool value Gravenberch. But for the time being, their concentration is on Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone,” Romano reports. “Bayern’s position is critical for Gravenberch because they do not want to sell him, but discussions between the player, club, and manager Thomas Tuchel will take place soon to clarify the situation.”

Liverpool is still waiting for their next move.
Liverpool’s stance on these three players is somewhat perplexing. Since Alexis MacAllister was signed two weeks ago today, there has been almost little action.

The example of Kone, in particular, is the most perplexing. With Borussia Monchengladbach reportedly willing to sell for as little as £26 million, it doesn’t appear to be a tough transaction to complete. That appears to be the type of deal the Reds are looking for for a player dubbed ‘phenomenal’ in his abilities.

For the previous few weeks, talks have also apparently been ongoing with Kone’s agents. You wouldn’t think Liverpool would be a difficult sell for him.

Despite this, nothing has changed.

The same is true for Thuram and Gravenberch, whose representatives have also been contacted. Both players are rumored to want to join Liverpool, although no definitive news has been released. You’d think the Reds would have all their ducks in a row by now.

Instead, it appears that they are awaiting another opportunity. Thuram may be a priority, but the other two appear to be secondary options. Perhaps the player they actually want has yet to be unveiled. They have Kone and then Gravenberch in case things go wrong while they do a deal behind closed doors.

Of course, this is all speculative, but until we have something more definite to go on,
