Following Rangers’ two-point loss to Motherwell, James Tavernier expressed again another sense of worthlessness.
Rangers’ 2-2 draw with Motherwell on Sunday, December 29, increased the Celtic lead to 14 points, and Tavernier’s post-match remarks are incredibly repetitive, making them appear almost out of the running for the title.
Philippe Clement might be fired as a result, but based on Tavernier’s remarks in a post-match interview following the game (Rangers on X), it almost seems as though he doesn’t give a damn, repeating the same old phrase about being “obviously disappointed.”
Rangers need leaders at the front of a comeback, not someone who, like Tavernier, comes out with the same old platitudes after every disappointing outcome. It is sentimentless.
After Motherwell’s draw, Rangers’ decline is back on pace.
With the home team having two goals disallowed and the Gers tying the score thanks to the heroics of Hamza Igamane, Rangers were lucky to escape with a point.
James Tavernier once again voiced a sense of worthlessness after Rangers’ two-point loss to Motherwell.
The Celtic advantage now stands at 14 points after Rangers’ 2-2 draw with Motherwell on Sunday, December 29. Tavernier’s post-match comments are so cliched that they seem to be virtually eliminated from the race for the championship.
Although Philippe Clement may lose his job as a result, Tavernier’s comments in a post-game interview after the game (Rangers on X) give the impression that he doesn’t care, reiterating the same old line.
Instead of someone who, like Tavernier, uses the same old clichés after every dismal result, Rangers need leaders at the forefront of a recovery. It lacks sentimentality.
It’s unclear if Clement will actually be fired, but considering the top-level shock, his position appears untenable for the second time this season.
This summer, a significant overhaul at Ibrox will be required to put the team back in a position where it can contend with Celtic.
