Liverpool fans have been anticipating the arrival of new arrivals this summer, but we now have an update on one player who may be departing the club shortly

“Let’s see what happens in the coming weeks, but as of today, I can guarantee that Thiago Alcantara is only focused on Liverpool, despite reports,” Fabrizio Romano wrote for CaughtOffside. There is nothing else.

“Saudi clubs have existed, but Thiago intends to remain at the club for the time being.” I’m sure he wants to remain a priority; approaches from Saudi Arabia aren’t uncommon; it happened in May.”

It’s a welcome announcement since keeping our No.6 at the club for another season is far from negative news, given the qualities he can provide to our midfield.

According to James Pearce and Raphael Honigstein, the only way a third midfield acquisition will arrive at Anfield this summer is if we sell another player.

Although this news implies that Thiago Alcantara will not be leaving the club this summer, he appears to be the most likely to leave.

If the choice is between Romeo Lavia from Southampton and the two-time Champions League winner, we should all be delighted to see the 32-year-old stay on Merseyside.

Given his altruistic decision to cut short his personal season in order to be fully ready for the upcoming season, it’s apparent that the Spanish international is intent on assisting the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp knows better than anyone that we’re in good hands with the former Bayern Munich manager.

On Saturday, Cody Gakpo’s disallowed goal against Aston Villa could have determined the outcome of Liverpool’s game

The Premier League has explained the unusual VAR procedure that resulted in Cody Gakpo’s Liverpool equalizer being overturned. Despite Roberto Firmino’s late goal to tie the game against Aston Villa on Saturday, Jurgen Klopp could have taken all three points if Gakpo’s close-range goal had stood.

High-flying At Anfield, Jacob Ramsey’s volleyed goal at the back post gave Villa the perfect start and quieted the home crowd. Klopp and his team would accept nothing less than a victory in their pursuit of a top-four spot.

They appeared to have been given a chance at survival when Gakpo slammed into the bottom corner, but referee John Brooks overruled the goal after extensive VAR review. Supporters were baffled by the final choice despite the fact that the former PSV Eindhoven forward remained loyal throughout the transfer.

Ezra Konsa deflected Luis Diaz’s header back across goal, which fell at the feet of Virgil van Dijk who was beyond the last line of defense but appeared to be played onside before crossing back in for the goal, but Brooks found that Konsa’s involvement was unintentional.

It was important that Konsa didn’t intend to play the ball, according to a statement from the Premier League. “The VAR recommended a review,” it read. And referee John Brooks found that it was an accidental deflection off Ezri Konsa rather than a purposeful play.

The Reds suffered a bitter defeat as a result, and even though Firmino scored a late equalizer in his final game at Anfield, the Reds will probably have to play in Europe’s second-tier club competition next season.

In response to his remarks about referee Paul Tierney last month, Klopp was given a touchline ban, and he was compelled to watch the game from the stands. Tyrone Mings may have received a red card, and Villa’s goal was disallowed, but the German decided to ignore these concerns after the game.

Instead, Klopp criticized Villa, another team competing for a spot in Europe under Unai Emery, for what he perceived as time wastage. Klopp remarked, “The time wasting was… wow.

“Against Sevilla, we saw the ball boys leave the country.” How long did Roma and Leverkusen have the ball in play? Everybody is engaging in it. This season, it has occurred in a number of games. Nothing to do with the outcome of today.

Next weekend, the Reds will travel to Southampton, which has been demoted, to finish the season. Klopp acknowledges that his team has been too bad for a very long time to merit fourth place.
